Avocados and Mango – Strategies for Success In an Arid Climate

There’s nothing quite like starting your own tree from seed and then picking fruit from branches you’ve grafted yourself. If you’ve been to see the demo garden lately you likely noticed the mango with blossoms and small fruit. You can buy a similar “Manila” mango at Home Depot or you can grow your own from seed. It’s not all that hard, but there are some tricks to learn.
Growing avocado from seed is fairly easy but there are some problems to watch for.
You are invited to bring to the MAY meeting your avocados/seeds, and mangos/seeds. There are several different method for getting to success. Please be ready to share your ideas on how to get there. Bring your fruit to our sample table to share as well.
