The Arizona Rare Fruit Growers maintains a subtropical demonstration garden at the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension on Broadway Road in Phoenix. Banana, papaya, mango, avocado, black sapote, passion fruit, bamboo, loquat, sugar cane, longan and guava trees can be seen growing happily there in apparent harmony with a desert climate at odds with their native habitat.
